If you tuned in to watch The Chase last night then you may have been left shocked as a contestant revealed he has a very famous dad.

And when we say famous, what we really mean is legendary…

Peter, a teacher, appeared on the popular ITV quiz show yesterday afternoon taking on ‘Chaser’ Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett.

Speaking to host Bradley Walsh about his life, Peter admitted he took inspiration for his teaching career from his dad.

Peter said:

Well I had a good teacher myself. My dad was a pretty good teacher. He didn’t teach but he coached a lot of football.

Norbert Peter Stiles.

Better known to us as Nobby Stiles, Peter’s dad was one of the legends who helped England lift the World Cup in 1966 – the only time the country has won the infamous tournament.

Clearly stunned Bradley exclaimed:

No? How about that. The unsung hero of that World Cup.

I could talk for ages about your dad. However, this is you and this is now.

Viewers were also shocked taking to social media to wish Nobby’s son all the best in the quiz:

Although Peter made it through to the final chase along with his team mate Diane, they were beaten by ‘The Beast’ and failed to win the £25,000 they had accumulated.

But when Nobby is your dad, you really have nothing to lose.
