A Hollywood actress – and former Scientologist – has revealed the bizarre rituals she had to go through as a member of the ‘religion’ (coughs).

Leah Remini has written two books about the infamous and secretive (definitely not) cult that counts a whole host of famous stars including Tom Cruise and John Travolta as its members.

The 46-year-old King of Queens star was just nine when her mother joined the Church of Scientology.

From that age she was raised within the church, and reached one of the highest levels possible within the ‘religion’.

However, In July 2013, Remini left the Church of Scientology, owing to policies that forbid members from questioning the management of leader, David Miscavige.

Since then Remini has been a vocal critic of the church, and speaking on the Joe Rogan show, she revealed a number of the bizarre rituals members must undertake to discover the ‘secrets’ of the religion.

She said:

You have to go into a secure room. First of all you have to be invited. Most Scientologists don’t even get to this.

I’m excited because finally all the shit I’ve had to put up with all my life is about to be answered.

She revealed she also had to sign a form saying she would have to pay $100,000 (£81,000) if she shared any of the secrets.

She added:

You have to get a briefcase only you know the code to. They scan your briefcase, put the materials in the case and close it.

Then you attach the briefcase to your body. When you go pee you have the briefcase with you.

Remini went on to explain that the documents explained how her body was ‘made up of other beings’ – although she was far from convinced.

In response to Remini’s various criticisms The Church of Scientology has described her as a ‘bitter ex-Scientologist’ and in a definitely not childish ‘you can’t quit because you’re fired’ scenario, claim she was on the verge of being expelled before she left.

They added:

She now regurgitates the tired myths the Church has repeatedly debunked, circulated by the same tiny clique of expelled former staffers bitter at having lost the positions they enjoyed.

Ms Remini is now joined at the hip with this collection of deadbeats, admitted liars, self-admitted perjurers, wife beaters and worse.

At least she’s not a Scientologist anymore though.
