EA has revealed the first official gameplay trailer for a little title called FIFA 17 during this year’s GamesCom event, and it looks great.
If kicking virtual footballs into virtual goals while simultaneously developing a very real animosity with friends is your cup of tea, then you know by now that you can never go wrong with FIFA.
FIFA 17 will be powered by the Frostbite engine, which EA also uses with visually delicious games like Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst and Battlefield 1.
In addition, EA’s has also put out a new video showing off FIFA Ultimate Team for the upcoming football game, adding squad building challenges and FUT Champions.
Squad building challenges will allow players to use Club items to get rewards, while Champions serves a kind of daily knockout tournament, with in-game rewards to be won.
Bagging a top spot on the leaderboard could even lead to you getting the chance to compete in the all-new FUT Championship Series, with a whopping $1.3m prize pool on offer.
Is EA trying to bring FIFA into the world of eSports? It certainly seems that way.
FIFA 17 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 29, and even comes with a franchise-first story mode.
