Cee Lo Green gave his fans quite a shock at the weekend when footage was released, apparently showing his phone exploding in his face.
The larger-than-life singer left his fans in a flap, after a security video captured his phone exploding and the star collapsing to the floor and remaining there without moving.

But, after giving his fans a fright with the shocking footage, he took to Facebook to admit the truth behind the worrying scene, the Mirror reports.
During a Facebook Live video he said:
I just want to let everybody know that I am alive, that I’m well, and I’m OK. Truthfully, I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today.
Actually what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project I’m doing called Gnarly Davidson. It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity…
He continued to reassure his fans:
First and foremost to everybody that loves and cares for me I want to let you know I’m OK and I want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern.
I’ve had a very difficult day dealing with everything so you all bear with me.

So it turns out the bizarre situation was actually and perhaps disappointingly, just a publicity stunt to promote his new album, which he’s currently still working on.
Well that’s a relief…
