Beauty Pageant Finalist Receives Vile Death Threats For Her Revealing Clothes
A teenager has received death threats for posing in a swimming costume for a major beauty pageant.
Diana Nagoyeva, 19, has qualified for the finals of the Miss Russia beauty contest but her decision to compete has sparked outrage at home.
She comes from the traditional Muslim society of south-western Russia’s Kabardino-Balkar Republic where many residents are unhappy about the mandatory swimwear round.
Unlike many of her rivals, Miss Nagoyeva has elected to wear a modest closed swimsuit for the photoshoot in the United Arab Emirates resort city of Dubai.
But that has not proved to be sufficient to appease the online haters who are so angry at her flaunting her body that they have been threatening her life.
People should despise those sluts and kill them like dogs at our feet.
This chick deserves to be stabbed to death as she puts shame on her folk.
Killing her will be seen as heroic and will be respected.
And another online commentator added:
I really wish you to die in the near future, as you should not live.
Nagoyeva says she tries not to take the abusive messages to heart – and sometimes even tries to disarm the haters by sending them a polite reply, wishing them all the best.
Diana is a second-year student at the Kabardino-Balkar State University where she is studying hotel hospitality.
She’s not all looks either, having played chess since the age of three years old and recently received an award for her prowess. She also enjoys fencing and swimming, and also knows sign language.
In January, a Miss Italy contestant got a barrage of online hatred after saying she was proud of being the first hopeful to compete with a baby.
One person said Alessia Spagnulo ‘deserved to die for this’ while another called her ‘unnatural’.
Alessia herself said:
I have never felt this kind of violence before but I am refusing to respond.
I have put on 2kg since I was pregnant, but they are the most beautiful 2kg I have ever put on.
My message to other mothers is that your dreams can come true even if you have a child and the 1,000 tasks that come with it.
Alessia allegedly decided to bring her daughter Chloe to the preliminary heats of the contest as she had no childcare. He partner works in a paper factory and her mother is a nurse.
Fellow contestants at the Rome event offered to take care of Chloe while Alessia took to the stage but she politely declined.
Patrizia Mirigliani, the organiser of the contest, said they were ‘happy to give everyone this opportunity’ and ‘reward beauty and talent.’
Spagnulo had previously worked as a shop assistant but was laid off after she became pregnant.
