A robber armed with a knife got his ass beat with mops not once but twice during his attempts to burgle two off-licenses.
49-year-old Stephen Hoggan will now face a five-year jail sentence after confessing to robbing three branches of One O One off-license in Glasgow in April 2017.
Hoggan was first mopped out of a shop after running off with £37 from the till.
The next day, attempting to steal two bottles of booze, Hoggan found himself feeling the brunt of a shopkeeper’s mop yet again.
This didn’t stop the man, however. Fearless and unphased by the odd occurrence of mops striking his head, Hoggan went back for thirds.
On this occassion, he managed to get away clean having bagged ‘a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.’
He was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Lord Justice Clerk Lady Dorrian at the High Court in Glasgow.
