A shocking video has surfaced online of a paramedic receiving abuse from an angry motorist for parking their ambulance in the street when trying to ‘save a life’.

As though this paramedic’s job wasn’t tough enough already, she had to deal with a torrent of abuse from an angry driver who complained he didn’t know why the ambulance was parked there because he couldn’t see the blue lights.

Despite the fact the vehicle is clearly an ambulance, its purpose appears to confuse him for whatever reason.

The unnamed man can be seen in the video calling the paramedic a ‘f*cking idiot’ to the point she turns around and calls him a ‘f*cking idiot’ in retaliation.

The video begins with the man asking: ‘How do we know?’ to the hypothetical situation of someone being ill upstairs where the paramedic parked.

The man says: ‘Where’s the f*cking hazards?’ before the conversation derailed into both participants calling the other idiots before the man gets into his massive truck. Obviously it’s a massive truck.

The clip was posted to Facebook by Ami Garner in Runcorn, urging people to share to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by paramedics.

PLEASE WATCH AND SHARE!!!! So this is the abuse our paramedics face for parking in the street whilst saving saving a life!!!

Commenters weren’t happy with the man’s behaviour in the video, with people expressing hope he needs an ambulance one day soon so he realises how important they are.

This is disgusting… maybe one day he will need a paramedic in a hurry and they will park where needed at the time… I applaud our emergency services for the excellent job they do daily to TRY keep us safe and healthy.

Only a few days ago we reported a homeowner had left a selfish note on the windscreen of an ambulance while paramedics desperately worked to save a man’s life.

As Birmingham paramedics worked to save a man who was vomiting blood, one of his neighbours was more concerned with the parking placement of the ambulance, outside their home in Small Heath, Birmingham.

The unbelievable message, written all in capitals, read:

You may be saving lives, but don’t park your van in a stupid place and block my drive.

Outraged paramedics have since responded to the selfish message, explaining that patients’ health always comes first, over the convenience of neighbours… Obviously.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service shared a photograph of the bloody scene from inside the ambulance that provided a potentially life-saving service to the man, adding the hashtag #patientscomefirst.

The official Twitter feed wrote a message saying:

Sometimes we just don’t know what to say. At the time, the crew were helping a man who was extremely unwell after vomiting a lot of blood.

 Paramedic, Sam Grimson, added:

One of our crews encountered this delightful note after assisting a patient suffering a major internal bleed!

The crew were not on scene long due to how poorly the patient was. We always try to park appropriately but sometimes it is not possible.

Let’s face it, a bit of parking inconvenience is worth it to make sure first respondents get to their patients on time, increasing the chances of a life saved.

If you’re a driver angry at an ambulance, just remember you might be inside one some day, then you won’t be too bothered about where it’s parked.
