Unless you’ve been living under a republican rock, you probably noticed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married over the weekend at Windsor Castle on one of the warmest days of the year so far.
There’s been the skeptics. The critics. Those who treat royal wedding as nothing more than a waste of the country’s money.
But some eagle-eyed viewers argue that one simple gesture rubbishes all the hate.
When I say simple, I really mean simple. Opening a drawer kinda simple.
As Prince Harry opened the door to their getaway-Jaguar, viewers noticed the Duchess of Sussex returning the favour by opening his, before they jetted away to their evening reception.
The move has its place in popular culture, most notably 1993’s A Bronx Tale, in which gangster Sonny describes women who open car doors for men who have just done the same, is a sure sign of a ‘keeper’ and ‘girlfriend material’.
Sonny says in the film:
If she doesn’t reach over and lift up that button or handle so that you can get in, that means she’s a selfish broad, and all you’re seeing is the tip of the iceberg. You dump her and you dump her fast.

One commenter said of the ‘move’:
It’s really important to note that Meghan reached across the car to open the door for Harry.
She’s probably read that manual and watched that movie. No stone has been left unturned. Argh I hope I’m wrong about her, I really do.

Thing’s weren’t so nonchalant during the ceremony, as Meghan walked down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel flanked by Prince Charles after her father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out at the last minute due to heart surgery.
On the morning of the wedding, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, accompanied her daughter to Windsor Castle along with select members of the wedding party.
A statement from Kensington Palace, prior to the wedding, said:
They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day.
Following the service, there will be a reception at St George’s Hall for the couple and the guests from the congregation.
Later that evening, the Prince of Wales will give a private evening reception for the couple and their close friends and family.
In addition to having the support of The Queen, his father The Prince of Wales, and his brother Prince William as best man, Prince Harry is also keen to involve his mother’s family in his wedding.
All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading.
Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day.
According to Kensington Palace, the wedding was attended by 600 guests, a modestly small gathering when compared to William and Kate’s, which boasted 1,900 guests.
A group of 200 close acquaintances were then invited to an after-party at Frogmore House, a short walk from St George’s Chapel.
Meghan’s official fancy title is now the Duchess of Sussex, while Prince Harry is now the Duke of Sussex.
Regardless of your stance on the royal family, a happy couple’s a happy couple. These pictures are nice whether it’s Meghan or your ma, IMHO.
