It’s a tale as old as time, girl meets beast, she warms his heart and they fall in love. Usually though the beast is a rather dashing soul under his furious exterior not wizard Hitler, Lord Voldemort.
The good souls over at PistolShrimps have used their dark filmmaking arts to mash together two of Emma Watson’s biggest films, Harry Potter and Beauty and the Beast to create something truly magical.
Basically they’ve removed Dan Steven’s Beast and replaced him with the Lord Voldemort and somehow, against all odds, it works.
Okay I won’t lie it’s a bit odd seeing the man who tried to murder Harry Potter half a dozen times saving Hermione Granger’s life but the effort gone into making it look real is so incredible you can’t help but believe it.
There’s also something quite disturbing about seeing Ralph Finnes’ Voldemort laughing and smiling while he interacts with the usual cavalcade of cutesy Disney characters.
All in all though we quite like seeing Voldemort portrayed as a misunderstood soul after all Dumbledore always said love was the strongest form of magic, maybe it could have saved Tom Riddle.
Although if we’re going to get nit-picky Maurice manages to survive a curse that looks suspiciously like the killing curse which of course wouldn’t happen!
