Photographs of a Plymouth State University student, who have gone viral, has now been approached by modelling agencies.

19-year-old Anok Yai, was pictured at Howard University’s homecoming and the images blew up on social media, with thousands of comments saying she should become a model.

Three modelling agencies have now approached the student and she’s one step closer to fulfilling her dreams of becoming a model.

The photographer snapped some images for his Instagram account, theSUNK, while Yai was attending homecoming at Howard University, according to The Boston Globe.

The photographer told her he was just taking some pictures of people in nice outfits and there was a chance the photos could go viral.

Not thinking anything of it, Yai posed for the pic and moved on – but the pictures quickly garnered attention on social media.

At the time of writing, the photos have been liked more than 11,000 times, since being posted on Sunday.

Yai told the Globe:

My phone just started vibrating rapidly for a long, long time.

At first, I honestly thought someone made a meme of me or something.

Her new followers have been tagging modelling agencies asking them to give her a job and it seems the plan has worked.

The student, who moved to Manchester, New Hampshire in 2000 from Egypt, has always been interested in fashion and art, though she said modelling always felt like a dream.

Yai studies biochemistry but is now considering modelling at least as a part-time gig.

She said:

It was a dream that I always wanted, but I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen…

At first, I questioned what everyone was seeing because I didn’t really see it.

Honestly, I think that people get so used to seeing themselves that people don’t see their own beauty because they see it everyday.
