Two twins who were born prematurely by four months will be home in time for Christmas.
The story of young Cain and Isaac, who weighed just 1lb each at the time of birth, went viral after dad Adam Mills shared the news on his Facebook.
‘Pray for us all, people’ he wrote at the time, in a post that was shared almost 1,000 times on the social media platform.
Today, he revealed mum to the twins, Jade Calvin, was in the process of signing their discharge forms at Furness General Hospital in Barrow.
He told North West Evening Mail:
It’s been an absolute dream. To see them so tiny when they were born and to be able tot take them home on Saturday is my perfect Christmas. It’s always been our goal to have them home for Christmas.
The last update on November 28 had read:
So proud to announce that these two perfect little humans. Isaac Calvin Mills and Cain Tiger Mills have done amazing they are now in barrow hospital for the last leg of this journey home. YES THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN. Been a stressful time over the past 12 week i cant believe it quarter of a year old already.
We will keep you all updated as will still be a long time before many of you get to meet them as there immune systems need to be built up.
There are no words to describe how proud of these 2 myself and Jade Calvin are. And we are so looking forward to getting them home in the next few week.
Earlier he had written:
Just a little update for concerned family and friends. Cain and Isaac are both stable and responding well to treatment. Both are a long way from safety but are true little fighters and are doing amazing. Mother Jade Calvin has been great every step of the way. Its a very exhausting time for us but as long as these 2 are okay its worth it. These 2 boys are already making me so proud they amaze me every second of every day. And i cant thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Preston royal infirmary were nice enough for the miracles they are working day in and day out. God bless you all.
And you Adam. Wishing you and the family a very merry Christmas.
