Jared Leto gives Doja Cat run for her money with bizarre cat costume at Met Gala

The actor and musician showed up to the Met Gala in a giant fluffy catsuit

Jared Leto showed up to this year's Met Gala dressed in a giant catsuit, popping off the head to reveal that it was him under there all along.

You can always trust celebrities to bring the style at an event, and if enough of them show up, you can be sure that someone will plump for a costume that's not your typical fashion fare.

This year's theme is 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' after the late German fashion designer who died in 2019, and that's caused quite the stir of controversy, not least because the red carpet looks like someone spilled Colgate all over it.

While some famous faces have been tailoring their fashion to fit the theme, others have appeared to go a step further and dress up as Choupette, the fashion designer's cat.

The cat is not going to be at the Met Gala, but some celebrities have taken that as a sign to represent Choupette with their outfits on the red carpet.

Doja Cat came dressed up as a cat, with her sparkling outfit boasting a special pair of ears, she appears to have taken tonight's theme very seriously.

Then there's Jared Leto, who showed up not in an outfit inspired by Choupette, but dressed as the cat themselves.

It was pretty hard to miss the sight of someone in a giant cat costume stalking their way past an array of cameras, but we didn't know exactly who was under there until they lifted off the head of the costume to reveal none other than the 30 Seconds To Mars singer.

Leto posed in the giant fluffy catsuit for the cameras before stripping off the dramatic outfit to reveal another outfit underneath, this one far more 'Sith Lord' than cat.

The actor and musician removed his giant cat costume to reveal an almost all-black outfit with sparkling shoulders complete with a cape for dramatic effect.

The actor and musician was wearing the costume as tribute to Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette.

Elsewhere at the Met Gala people think that Dua Lipa's outfit has been the 'craziest pull' of the night, as she's gone for a Chanel dress that was first worn by Claudia Schiffer, back in the 90s.

Meanwhile, people have been impressed at rapper Ice Spice scoring an invite to the event so early in her career, while the internet had fun trying to work out which celebrity was getting carried out of their hotel all wrapped up to hide their identity.
