Mark Wahlberg returns to work at grocery store where he was paid $3.65 an hour as a teen

The Hollywood star came full circle as he returned to the place the 'whole hustle started'

Mark Wahlberg went back to the place where 'the whole hustle started' as he returned to the store where he'd worked as a teenager bagging groceries.

Wahlberg might be known as a huge Hollywood star these days, but everyone has to start somewhere, and for the actor that was at a Stop & Shop in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Admittedly his position packing food into paper bags is pretty different to acting for the big screen, but the job allowed a 17-year-old Wahlberg to earn himself a bit of cash, while he waited for his big break.

In a clip shared on Instagram this week, the 51-year-old was seen standing outside the Stop & Shop as he explained that he'd earned just $3.65 (£2.90) an hour working there.

It's safe to say he earns a bit more for his work now, but that didn't stop Wahlberg going back into the store to try to get his job back.

Like riding a bike, the actor soon got back into the swing of things, as he loaded groceries at the checkout, asking customers whether they wanted their items double-bagged, while occasionally taking a quick break to take photos with fans.

"Back to work where it all started," he wrote alongside one of his posts from the store.

After his shift at the Stop & Shop came to an end, Wahlberg set out to a few other grocery stores, including his 'mom's favourite', Shaw's Supermarket, Binny's Beverage Depot, Jewel Osco and, of course, Walmart.

Despite what it might look like, Wahlberg isn't on the hunt for a new job at a supermarket - instead he was hitting the various stores to promote one of the numerous companies he's linked with, Flecha Azul Tequila.

The star toured the food shops and liquor stores to share the news that the beverage would be hitting the shelves, while also keeping an eye out for some of the other brands he's tied to, including Wahlbugers and Performance Inspired Nutrition.

"We gotta make sure your customers get all the best," Wahlberg told a Stop & Shop worker.

The Boston native has come a long way since his time bagging groceries, having formed the hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in the early 90s, before starting to rack up acting credits a few years later.

More recently, Wahlberg has starred Hollywood movies like Me Time with Kevin Hart, and Unchartered with Tom Holland.
