Thomas Vinterberg has issued a hilarious response to the news that Chris Rock is remaking one of his movies.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Rock, 59, had signed up to develop an American version of 54-year-old Vinterberg’s black comedy, Another Round.
The 2020 Danish dramedy, known also as Druk, originally won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film as well as the BAFTA, and now the comedian wants to bring it back to the big screen.
The project will be directed by the comedian, while Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, Brad Weston and Collin Creighton are on production duties.

At the time of writing, no actors have been announced for the Another Round remake, while the original movie starred Mads Mikkelsen, alongside Thomas Bo Larsen and Lars Ranthe.
Following the news that the Top Five director would be bringing Another Round back to life, Vinterberg told Ekstra Bladet that he was ‘excited’ about the project.
In an interview, he said: "The choice of Chris Rock is exciting. It's exciting what he comes up with. I am full of good expectations.”
While speaking at the Department Q premiere, the director added that he was not actively involved in the reboot before he shared a stark warning for Rock.

He said: "But if it’s sh-t, he’ll get slapped again.”
The comment is a direct call-back to an incident at the 2022 Academy Award when actor Will Smith walked on stage and slapped Rock while he was presenting the Best Documentary Feature.
The violence at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre was in response to Rock making a joke about 55-year-old Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Later on in the evening, the King Richard star won the Best Actor award and apologised to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as well as the other nominees.
He later issued a sorry note for slapping the comedian via social media.
Vinterberg’s comment regarding Rock has since gone viral and has drawn thousands of comments from viewers.
