Grimes and Elon Musk's toddler had a three-day 'PTSD meltdown' when a SpaceX rocket exploded

The singer and mother to X Æ A-12 has revealed the three-year-old is already obsessed with space.

Grimes says the son she shares with Elon Musk had a 'three day PTSD meltdown' after watching a SpaceX rocket explode.

The singer shares her two children - 19-month-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, who goes by Y, and 3-year-old son X Æ A-12 - with the tech billionaire.

This week she has spoken to Wired magazine about co-parenting with the CEO of X.

The Canadian musician - whose real name is Claire Elise Bouchertold - told the publication her toddler son is following in his famous father's footsteps and is already obsessed with space.

"X knows a lot about rockets. It's crazy," she told Wired. "He knows more about rockets than me."

She continued: "We had to stop giving him toys, because if they're not anatomically correct, he gets upset.

"He's a little engineer, for sure. But his obsession with space is bordering on, 'Is this healthy?'"

Musk has been photographed taking X along to meetings and even rocket launches.

The 35-year-old said her son didn't cope well after witnessing the SpaceX rocket that exploded in April this year.

"When X saw Starship blow up, he had, like, a three-day PTSD meltdown," she said.

"Every hour, he was waking up and going, 'Starship...' and I had to rub his back."

Meanwhile, daughter Y is also shaping up to be a 'little engineer'.

"Yeah, she’s a little engineer too. She likes industrial shipping. She’s very strange," she said.

Grimes also told the publication she's on good terms with Musk, who she dated publicly from 2018 until 2021.

"I try to soften him up, to build family culture," Grimes said. "And he steals a lot of my memes."

She also her time with Musk was the 'best internship ever'.

"That’s a master class in leadership and engineering and makes you understand how rare it is to have a leader of that quality," she said.

Last year, she told Vanity Fair their relationship is 'fluid'.

“There’s no real word for it,” she explained.

“I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid.

"We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time…. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”

She continued: “This is the best it’s ever been... We just need to be free.”
