Grimes sues Elon Musk over their 3 children after claiming she wasn't allowed to see her son

The singer reportedly filed a petition to 'establish parental rights' just weeks after begging Musk to let her see her young son

Grimes is reportedly suing her billionaire ex-partner Elon Musk over parental rights of their three children.

The pair share children X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus.

And last week, the singer - whose real name is Claire Boucher - reportedly filed a petition at a California court to 'establish parental relationship' — a way of identifying a child's legal parents when they are unmarried.

These filings are not available for public viewing.

Family attorney, Deborah Dubroff, said the petition amounts to a lawsuit and is typically filed alongside requests for child support or custody rights, The San Francisco Standard reports.

"Most of the time, the driving force is that they need custody orders or child support, but the petition is to establish parentage of the child," Dubroff said.

Grimes is yet to request child support or custody rights, the outlet reports.

Musk also has yet to respond to the petition.

UNILAD has contacted Grimes and Musk's representatives for comment.

The petition comes just weeks after the singer issued a public plea to Musk, begging him to let her see their toddler son.

In a since-deleted tweet to Walter Issacson, who's shared a picture of Musk with his twins that he shares with Shivon Zilis, Grimes said: "Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer.

"I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart."

Grimes then later posted a follow-up statement which said: "I spoke with Shivon at length finally, which was long overdue. This wasn’t her fault, plz don't be angry at her!

"We respect each other a lot and we're excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together.”

The petition comes weeks after she begged Musk to let her see her son.

Adding: "Communication about the twins wasn’t handled super well in the past, but I now totally understand what happened and totally forgive the situation.

"Women are so often pitted against each other. Speaking with Shivon, it’s very evident she’s an amazing human and we both just want what's best for our kids."

Musk has 10 children, as along with his children with Grimes, he shares twins Griffin and Vivian Musk, 18, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian Musk, 16 with his first wife, Justine Wilson.

He also shares 17-month-old twins Azure and Strider with Zilis.

Earlier this week, it was announced that a 22-year-old college graduate is suing Musk for defamation after he retweeted far-right Twitter accounts that claiming that he was involved in a 'false flag' operation.

UNILAD has previously reached out to X and Musk's representatives for comment.
