Jennifer Love Hewitt made a withering response to trolls who accused her of being 'fake'.
Trolls descended on the star after her hairstylist Nikki Lee posted a clip to Instagram showing off a brand new look for the Ghost Whisperer star.
Love Hewitt had cut her long hair into a bob with curtain bangs. She finished the look by changing the colour to a rich brown.

The stylist captioned the post: "Was time to spice things up."
Fans of the Party of Five actor were stunned by the new look.
One wrote: "SHE'S SO GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! Gosh, I love it!!!!"
Another said: "GORGEOUS AS ALWAYS, LOVE YOU JENNIFER."

A third wrote: "Looks fantastic the new haircut."
Despite this, some people claimed that she had undergone cosmetic procedures, even speculating about the possibility that she had had a brow lift and describing her as 'unrecognizable'.
But Love Hewitt found a hilarious way to hit back at the trolls.
Taking to social media, she posted a series of pictures which very obviously had filters placed over them.
The filters varied each time, but each one was widely exaggerated, the sort that would make you look like a cartoon or an anime drawing, or give you really big lips rather than just making it look like you're wearing eyeliner.

Love Hewitt accompanied the post with some tongue-in-cheek comments.
She said: “So many people said I look different", adding:“I look the same as always. Couldn’t look more natural. I woke up like this. Filters don’t change you that much.”

She finished the post by reflecting on filters, as well as urging people to 'be kind', writing: “Let people be filtered or unfiltered. Be good. Be kind. Spread love.”
In a separate post, Love Hewitt had put up a picture of herself with no make up or filters to mark her 44th birthday, leaving fans shocked by how much her appearance had changed.

She wrote: "Woke up at 4am and was 44! I am deeply grateful, blessed, happy, sometimes insecure about aging, a mom of three incredible babies, married to the most handsome and awesome man, and really excited to see what this year has for us.
