An unsolved mystery in the world of pop music is unfolding at this very moment following the unexplained disappearance of Selena Gomez's latest single.
Last month the Only Murders in the Building star, 31, released an upbeat breakup song called 'Single Soon' and fans absolutely loved it, with the track appearing on music charts around the world after its release.
"I'm pickin' out this dress / tryin' on these shoes / 'cause I'll be single soon / I'll be single soon," the Rare Beauty founder belts in the chorus.
However, fans are now in a state of confusion as the song is no longer playable on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

Although 'Single Soon' can still be found on Spotify for instance, the song has been greyed out and cannot be played.
Perhaps the lyrics should have been 'I'll be gone soon' because that's exactly what happened on Thursday a mere two weeks after it hit the airwaves.
The music video, which was released on the same day as the single's release on 18 August, is still up on Gomez's YouTube channel if you fancy giving it a stream. It may be the only way you can do so at the moment.

Just like any other mystery, people have flocked to social media to share their conspiracy theories about the missing track.
"Whyyyyy What happened Any one with a logical explanation please reply,” one person shared on X.
While another made the assumption: “She's not single anymore.”
“Can someone please tell us the reason. I kinda liked the song,” someone else pleaded.

UNILAD has contacted Gomez's representatives for comment.
The removal of the song from streaming comes after Gomez attended the 2023 MTV VMAs on Wednesday (13 September) and appeared to have a great time, however, she was left less than impressed by being turned into a meme.
The actor and singer scooped the award for Best Afrobeats at the event thanks to her collaboration on Rema’s hit 'Calm Down'.
Collecting her award, a visibly-emotional Gomez said: “Thank you so much, Rema, for believing in me.

“Thank you for choosing me to be part of an incredible song that has been able to break records.
“Thank all of you for listening, for streaming, I could not be more honored. I want to send all my love to Nigeria.”
But her win was somewhat overshadowed by her own facial expressions during the night.
The former Disney star got the meme treatment after a camera zoomed in her face when Best R&B nominee Chris Brown’s name was read out.

In the viral video, the singer turned up her nose and scrunched her face in what seems to be total disinterest when Brown's name was called.
In a post on Instagram Stories in response to the reactions, she wrote: “I will never be a meme again. I'd rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love.”
