DoorDash driver caught 'stealing' customer's food after claiming they dropped it off

Ashlea Belle was craving Chick-fil-A, but the DoorDash driver had other plans

A hungry DoorDash user has slammed a driver who appeared to make a half-hearted attempt to find her apartment before wandering off with her Chick-fil-A order and claiming she’d delivered it.

You can watch security footage capturing the brazen moment below:

TikToker Ashlea Belle's (@ashleabelle) coworker was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her Chick-fil-A order for a late lunch on Monday (March 27), but her hopes and dreams were set to be crushed.

Security footage captured the Dasher wandering the halls of her apartment building, apparently at a loss trying to find where Ashlea's colleague lived.

Eventually the Dasher gave up, which is annoying enough in itself when you’re jonesing for fried chicken, but it was what happened next that made Ashlea’s blood boil.

The Dasher contacted her coworker on the DoorDash app with a photo of her food outside a door saying her order had been dropped off.

The Dasher couldn't seem to find the apartment.

Except Ashlea says that wasn’t her coworker's door at all, and security footage shows the Dasher leaving with the food herself rather than leaving it in the apartment building.

Reacting to the Dasher's message in the video, Ashlea says: "It's saying delivered at 2.45pm, but that's not what our door looks like.

"She goes around the corner, takes a photo, leaves with it and then hops into her car and has her merry day."

Ashlea explained in the caption: “This was my coworker’s lunch and she received the ‘your order has been delivered’ with that pic and the food was nowhere to be found, but we have camera access and immediately pulled it up.

She was caught on camera leaving with the food.

“She goes around the corner, snaps a pic in front of a random door of the food, of course out of camera sight, but then is clearly seen walking away with the food.

“My coworker tried calling her immediately and they didn’t answer, and DoorDash’s last update was only partial payment back because how do we know for sure that they actually left with it. How??”

The vid has been viewed more than 150,000 times on TikTok, with people up in arms about the Dasher’s alleged behaviour.

One wrote: “She went to the door then dashed.”

Another said: “As a driver I’m embarrassed and ashamed.”

The driver claimed the food had been delivered.

A third was more sympathetic to the driver, saying: “If it’s that difficult of a building, just meet her somewhere in the hallway.”

DoorDash itself popped up in the comments too, writing: “Smh… we don’t let this slide! Shoot us an email and we’ll make things right!”

So hopefully Ashlea's coworker will get a full refund after all.
