American shares the US food she finds really weird since living in the UK

A former Georgia peach who now lives in the UK has revealed which American foods she's changed her opinions on after moving across the pond.

With the language, the fashion, the music and the sitcom humor, there's a lot the UK has in common with the US.

Visitors from either side usually don't struggle too much to settle on vacations - Brits just have to get used to the bigger portions of food - but after moving her entire American life to the UK, TikToker Yorkshire Peach has started to notice all the differences between the two countries.

The content creator regularly shares posts about how she's adjusted to her new country, and this week she informed her followers that living in the UK has made her realise just how weird some food in America really is.

The first food Yorkshire Peach is struggling to comprehend with a British point of view is Velveeta cheese - the orange cheese slices that are great for chucking on a burger or filling out a sandwich.

After moving to a country in Europe and getting to experience all the cheeses it has to offer, the TikToker said: "I couldn't go back, it doesn't taste like cheese."

Next up: Parkay squeeze - aka, 'butter that squirts out of a bottle'.

I've personally not come across this one before, and I think it sounds weird regardless, but Yorkshire Peach went as far as to describe it as 'grim'.

"This is what we used growing up. I've never seen it here [in Britain], and I don't wish to," she added.

There seems to be a bit of a dairy-related theme going on here, because the next item she found weird was Easy Cheese, otherwise known as cheese in a can.

It might be Easy, but Yorkshire Peach has tasted European cheese now, and she doesn't want to go back.

"What's that about?," she asked. "I think I used to eat that on a Ritz cracker as well. No no no... Imagine the consistency of squirty cream, mixed with the taste of nacho cheese from the cinema, but foamy."

It's not the most appetising description, and I think Brits would be quick to agree that it definitely sounds 'weird'.

Other foods that made Yorkshire Peach's 'weird' list include biscuit dough in a can and Kool-Aid, with the TikToker now much more used bread that doesn't come 'in a can', and the drink 'squash', which can be mixed with water to create a fruit juice drink.

All in all, it seems that living in the UK has given the TikToker a greater appreciation for snacks that, quite simply, don't come in a can.
