With many unanswered questions surrounding the last Indiana Jones film, it’s understandable that fan theories have popped up around the beloved franchise.
Though some are eager to find out what happened to the Ark of the Covenant, others are more curious to discover what happened to Shia LaBeouf's character.
Well, the latter will finally be revealed in the fifth and final instalment of the franchise - Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
LaBeouf played Henry ‘Mutt’ Williams, the smart-talking illegitimate son of Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) and Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) back in 2008.

Having waited nearly two decades for a fourth Indiana Jones film, it’s safe to say The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was, um, divisive.
Though there was plenty for fans to love, a lot of the movie's criticism hinged on the lacklustre storyline as well as LaBeouf's appearance in the flick.
In fact, the Transformers actor even admitted that he was unhappy with his performance in the highly anticipated film.
Back in 2010, LaBeouf told the Los Angeles Times: “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished.”

His co-star, Harrison Ford, also revealed that he ‘wasn’t happy’ with the movie either, even referencing LaBeouf's comments in an interview with Today.
“I think I called him a f***ing idiot. As an actor, I think it’s my obligation to support the film without making a complete a** of myself,” said the 80-year-old.
Ford added: "Shia is ambitious, attentive, and talented - and he’s learning how to deal with a situation which is very unique and difficult."
With so much criticism around Indy 4, it’s understandable that LaBeouf didn’t have a second crack at the whip this time around.

In 2017 screenwriter David Koepp revealed that LaBeouf would not be reprising his role. However, last year, the movie’s director, James Mangold, confirmed that fans 'will find out what happened' to Mutt.
LaBeouf's character is barely referenced in The Dial of Destiny, as it's revealed that he has died off-screen between the fourth and fifth film.
The latest movie is set in 1969 with veteran archaeologist and professor Indy hanging up his iconic hat.
It’s revealed that Mutt passed away while fighting in the Vietnam War (1955-1975) - which is often referred to throughout the film.

While the movie doesn’t confirm when Mutt meets his maker, the young man doesn’t even appear in a flashback to 1944 at the beginning of the flick.
Sadly, it seems that Indy isn’t always so eager to dig up the past.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is in cinemas from 28 June.
