Who knew Jeopardy! could break the internet?
The classic US quiz show has shocked fans after contestants didn’t know the answer to a simple question about the Lord’s Prayer.
While many viewers have taken their frustration to Twitter, it’s not the first-time contestants have been stumped over a surprisingly easy question.
Back in 2022, Jeopardy!’s players looked on with confusion when they were asked to name rapper Machine Gun Kelly during the music category.

Showing a photo of the 33-year-old, host Ken Jennings asked contestants: “The stage name of this rapper and actor gets shortened to MGK,’ as well as a photo of him.”
Despite the musician making headlines for his relationship with Megan Fox, the question was met with a deafening silence - even from Amy Schneider, the game show’s highest-earning female contestant.
“Not fans of Machine Gun Kelly, apparently,” joked Jennings after the toe-curling moment.
In a similarly awkward incident on Tuesday's episode (13 June), contestants struggled to complete a line from the Lord’s Prayer - one of the most widely known prayers in the world.

For $200, presenter Mayim Bialik asked players to finish the phrase: “Matthew 6:9 says, ‘Our Father, which art in heaven, ’ This’ be thy name.’”
To which, contestants Suresh Krishnan, Laura Blyler and Joe Seibert were as quiet as church mice.
Understandably, the simple question has gone viral on Twitter, with many fans complaining about the lack of answer.
One viewer tweeted: “I'm an atheist and even I knew the answer to that lord's prayer question. #Jeopardy.”

Another agreed and wrote: “Dangit. Even my atheist friend knew this.”
Others were surprised that the contestants were unfamiliar with the prayer, given how often it’s quoted in film, TV and music.
“How can those Jeopardy! nerds not know this answer. Have they never listened to Iron Maiden?” wrote another fan, referring to the heavy metal band’s 1982 track ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’.
Meanwhile, some viewers used the incident to poke fun at the long-running quiz show which is often watched by older viewers.

“Not sure what surprises me more. That three Jeopardy contestants didn't know a question about The Lord's Prayer or that I even care about something that happened on Jeopardy?” one joked.
Just in case you were also stumped, the missing word is ‘hallowed’.
Well, we guess you can’t win them all - even if you are meant to be the biggest brain boxes in the country!
