Tom Holland reveals that part of him wants to walk away from Spider-Man…forever.
The British actor recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and shared that he initially hesitated to do a fourth film because he didn't want to mess with his much-beloved trilogy.

"I think we found the reason [we would do another film]," he told the outlet.
"I’m really, really happy with where we’re at in terms of the creative. But I’m also a little apprehensive about it.
"There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises. I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life."

Sony and Marvel have confirmed that a fourth film is on the horizon, but the project has been halted with Holland’s break from acting and the actors and writer strike.
While attending the New York premiere of his new film The Crowded Room, the actor was asked where the movie currently stands, as per Variety.
“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers,” he said.

“There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige even teased to The New York Times last year he and Amy Pascal, the films’ producer, were in talks with Sony about the superhero’s next chapter in the franchise.
"Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about— yes, we're actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don't want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home," he said.
"That will not be occurring this time."

Feige was referring to the brief falling out between the two studios, which potentially could have seen a new iteration of Spider-Man without Holland.
Pascal added: “We're producers, so we always believe everything will work out.
"I love working with Kevin. We have a great partnership, along with Tom Rothman, who runs Sony and has been instrumental, a great leader with great ideas. I hope it lasts forever."
No word yet on when a fourth film will be released, but we’re just happy Holland will be slipping back into the red skin tight suit.
