Chilling scene from Netflix horror movie has people screaming at the TV

The A24 movie has caused quite the stir since coming onto Netflix.

A scene in an A24 slasher movie on Netflix has people 'screaming at the TV'.

If you were one of the people who were so petrified by that one Netflix horror you had to turn it off, then fear not, because there's another which is watchable but will still have you screaming at the TV.

What the movie is about

The A24 film - released onto Netflix earlier this month on 1 February - centers around a group of actors and creatives based in rural Texas, who are trying to make an adult film while staying in the house of an elderly couple.

However, when the elderly couple realise what the group are doing, the group end up in life-threatening danger.

How could an elderly couple be so dangerous? I hear you ask. Well, you'll just have to watch to find out.

Who's in it

Written and directed by Ti West, the movie - titled X - stars the likes of Nymphomaniac's Mia Goth, Wednesday's Jenna Ortega, and musician Kid Cudi - real name Scott Mescudi.

Martin Henderson (Everest), Pitch Perfect's Brittany Snow and Owen Campbell (Conviction) also make up the main cast.

Goth takes on the role of both a young woman and aspiring adult film star called Maxine, as well as an elderly woman named Pearl. While Ortega stars as Lorraine Day and Mescudi as Jackson Hole - a Marine Corps veteran.

Henderson plays Wayne Gilroy, Snow a burlesque dancer called Bobby-Lynne Parker and Campbell is the amateur director, RJ Nichols.

The chilling scene

The scene which has people 'screaming at the TV,' sees Goth's character of Maxine taking a bath in a lake.

The scene opens with a shot of her face floating in the water, however, the camera then ominously pans to another part of the lake where viewers are met with the sight of an alligator.

Back to Maxine's floating face the camera goes, before a bird's eye shot shows her swimming back to the dock.

Netflix's teaser of the scene on Facebook cuts out before we see whether she makes it back onto dry land in time and judging by viewer's reactions, it would appear it's a nail-biting watch.

The reaction

Viewers of the A24 horror have flocked to Netflix's Facebook post to weigh in on the scene, the streaming service captioning the video: "This had me screaming at the TV!!!"

The post has obtained over 300k likes - others seemingly agreeing with Netflix's sentiment.

One user said: "This was one crazy horror movie!"

"Yeah this movie was wild," another added.

And a third commented: "This is the best feature film I have ever seen. Good direction, good acting performances.. Great locations, special thanks to the entire cast and grew. I enjoy it, I love it."
