Christmas may be well and truly over, but that doesn't mean that movie marathons are.
Winter is the perfect time of year to hit the cinema because, well... outside activities aren't particular appealing right now, are they?
Fortunately, early 2024 will be full of fantastic releases such as Argylle, Madame Web and Dune: Part Two.

And the first horror movie of the year is set to hit cinemas very soon.
Titled Night Swim, the horror's synopsis reads: "Forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, former baseball player Ray Waller moves into a new house with his wife and two children.
"He hopes that the backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for himself.

"However, a dark secret from the home's past soon unleashes a malevolent force that drags the family into the depths of inescapable terror."
A haunted swimming pool? Urm, count me in.
Night Swim hits cinemas on January 5 and, with it's pending release in mind, people have taken to social media to share their excitement.
"The movie Night Swim looks good. Scary," one person wrote.

"Yo that Night Swim movie looks terrifying," echoed someone else, as a third added: "Definitely wanna see that Night Swim movie."
"Looks so much more terrifying than a usual January horror. Excited for this one," said another.
Elsewhere, people who watched the trailer said it left them with 'chills'.
One fan penned below YouTube trailer: "Wow, I actually got chills. The ocean is full of terrifying monsters, obviously, but never been afraid of a pool before. Bet this movie can fix that."

Another wrote: "This looks awesome! The plot is so original, and I am all here for it! I can't wait to see it!"
Bryce McGuire is the director behind the film and he's teased that 'there are deeper layers beneath the iceberg' and already has hopes for a sequel.
"There's a little Easter egg in one of the early scenes that, to me, points a path to where I'd like to go," McGuire told SFX Magazine.

"It would be fun to explore and expand the mythology."
Aussie filmmaker James Wan produced the new movie alongside M3GAN creators, Blumhouse Productions.
And with Wan's history of producing blockbuster horror movies such as The Nun, The Conjuring, and Saw in mind, the odds may well be in McGuire's favor for a Night Swim sequel after all.
