People are all saying the same thing after 'obvious Oscar season'

There wasn't as much drama as people hoped for

People are all saying the same thing about Hollywood's biggest night.

Last night (March 10) marked the 2024 Oscars, and there have been a series of controversies over the decades of Academy Awards.

One historical moment that still gets people talking was when Angelina Jolie kissed her brother, James Haven, on the mouth.

Then there was that 2022 ordeal when Will Smith slapped host Chris Rock across the face for making a jibe about Jada Pinkett-Smith.

But, aside from Al Pacino's on stage mess-up and John Cena sporting his birthday suit, last night was largely uneventful in comparison to previous years.

Wins wise, Oppenheimer - as expected - won several different awards, with Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. both taking home their first Acamedy Award.

Director Christopher Nolan also took home his first win for Best Director, having previously been nominated for Dunkirk.

Other wins included Poor Things and The Holdovers; two movies that have been sweeping the board throughout awards seasons alongside Oppenheimer.

With this in mind, some people have labelled this year's Oscars as a bit 'boring'.

Someone tweeted: "Well if this hasn't been the most obvious Oscar season! Kind of boring, ngl. But, we live to see what's next!"

"This year really was a boring if uncontroversial year for the Oscars huh," said another.

"Sorry, but I thought the #Oscars was slow and a little boring," a different person went on. "What was with the commercials for Abbott Elementary and The Jimmy Kimmel Show? Just too much going on."

Other called for a different host following Jimmy Kimmel's hosting last night.

They wrote: "The Oscars were really boring this year NGL. Need a better host asap. We need a Jack Black or someone like that."

Noting the lack of 'drama', another said: "This year's Oscars was so boring. Nothing memorable happened."

"The most boring Oscars yet," someone else went as far as saying.

But Ryan Gosling's 'I'm Just Ken' performance may have just saved the day.

The actor starred as Ken in Barbie, which was up for Best Picture, and performed the hit track on stage last night after much demand.

Gosling arguably stole the show with his performance, where she sported a pink bedazzled suit.

"I think this is the most fun there’s ever been at The Oscars," one person said of Gosling's singing.

"Hats off to Ryan Gosling at last night's Oscars," said another. "He went all in with that Kenergy....with all the terrible things in this world sometimes we just need abit of fun with a fella singing about being Just Ken in a pink suit."

I couldn't have put it better myself.
