People are flooding to social media to condemn the latest Saturday Night Live skit featuring Timothée Chalamet.

Last week, the death toll in Gaza surpassed over 10,000 and the U.N. Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called it a 'graveyard for children'.

And in this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, the Bones and All actor took to the stage to not only play Troye Sivan and celebrate the end of the actors' strike, but to also act out jumping off a building and make a joke about militant group Hamas.

In a clip from the episode, shared to X by SNL, three people can be seen spotting Chalamet - who plays the role of an aspiring musician named Frank - standing in a window.

They question what Chalamet's character is doing, the actor stating: "I can't take it anymore. I don't have anything worth living for."

The trio eventually persuade Frank to play some of his music and say they'll share his music on Instagram 'if it means [he] won't kill himself,' asking what Frank's band's name is.

"Haymas," he responds.

"Dude, I'm not sharing a song by Hamas on Instagram," one of the trio says.

And the skit has - unsurprisingly - faced extreme backlash online.

People have flooded to the post to condemn the scene as completely 'distasteful' and for 'mock[ing] the Palestinian genocide'.

One X user wrote: "I have been a staunch SNL defender for a while as most people have turned it off, but all I can say is yikes. Not simply unfunny, but out of touch and disrespectful."

"Making jokes about an ongoing genocide? when people are actually dying every single second of the day? so f**king disgusting these people are sick f**k timothée chalamet f**k snl," another said.

A third added: "Thats it, britney trauma, the hamas, and the suicide, not funny not even close."

And a fourth commented: "Most celebrities aren’t even bothered to say a single thing about the current situation but then they go on and make extremely tasteless jokes about people getting murdered. america at its best as usual. while you sit in your mansions and make jokes, children are getting bombed."

Ultimately, many have called for those involved in the scene to resign or for the show to be canceled.

UNILAD has contacted Saturday Night Live and Timothée Chalamet's reps for comment.
