Woody Harrelson Says He Did Bong Rip Before Presenting At Oscars

Woody Harrelson has left fans in stitches over his appearance at the Oscars alongside White Men Can't Jump co-stars.

Woody Harrelson has left fans in stitches over his appearance at the Oscars alongside White Men Can't Jump co-stars Wesley Snipes and Rosie Perez.

Yesterday, 27 March not only marked the night of the 94th Academy Awards, but also the 30th anniversary of American sports comedy film White Men Can't Jump, written and directed by Ron Shelton.

At the Oscars, appearing on stage to present the Best Cinematography category, Harrelson was reunited with fellow cast members Snipes and Perez.

Alongside presenting the award, the trio took the opportunity to pay tribute to the 1992 film. Watch below:

Perez reflected how 'it's just hard to believe that it's been 30 years since White Men Can't Jump'.

"Uh, you mean 30 years since I proved they could," Harrelson jokingly replied.

However, Snipes jibed: "You still look like a slow, geeky chump to me."

Pressing that he's 'in the best shape of [his] life' and 'in the zone' Harrelson was accused by Perez of being 'zoned out [...] like really high. Like, really, like zooted, up there.'

"This is true," Harrelson said. "I wish I hadn't done that bong rip in the car."

Snipes joked that he wished he 'hadn't rolled' the bong rip with Harrelson, before Perez reflected that it would appear that she was the 'only sober one up' on stage.

"And some things haven't changed in 30 years! So, oh my gosh, these guys should have hooked me up," Perez concluded.

Harrelson and Snipes starred as basketball hustlers Billy Hoyle and Sidney 'Syd' Deane in White Men Can't Jump.

The comedy grossed $76 million (£58 million) at the box office and received a rating of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

While Will Smith's attack on Chris Rock has become one of the most talked about moments from last night's 94th Academy Awards, one fan of White Men Can't Jump joked: "You’re upset about what happened at the Oscars? That slap happened right when Woody Harrelson was peaking on acid, how do you think HE feels."

Another Oscars viewer critiqued the trio's reunion: "Woody Harrelson’s ad lib was good. Maybe less written bits, more letting professional entertainers be loose and charming."

One user didn't quite get the joke. They said: "Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson doing the nominations high out of their minds is the best Oscar moment in forever."

While Snipes was meant to reveal the winner of the Best Cinematography category, Harrelson did the honours.

The 60-year-old joked: "Nominated three times, this is the most words I ever spoke here."

In response to raucous applause and laughter from the audience, he added: "Presenting is where it's at!"
