Andrew Tate's release from prison has a bizarre connection with The Matrix

Andrew Tate’s release from a Romanian prison has a weird link to the movie The Matrix.

Tate, 36, and his brother Tristan were released yesterday (March 31), following a successful appeal at the Bucharest Court of Appeal.

He will now remain under house arrest until 29 April, a spokesperson for Romania's anti-organised crime agency, DIICOT said.

The controversial influencer and his brother were arrested back in December for human trafficking and organised crime allegations.

The brothers have denied the accusations made against them and no one has yet been formally charged.

Speaking after his release, Tate said: "I have no resentment in my heart for the country of Romania, or for anybody else.

"I just believe in the truth. So I believe in God and I think that the fire of truth will eventually destroy all lies and anybody who lies in a long enough timeframe will feel the sting of regret.

"I truly believe that justice will be served in the end. There is 0 percent chance of me being found guilty of something I have not done. I maintain my absolute innocent.

"I think most people understand this and I look forward to being home, so thank you so much."

He then, somewhat bizarrely, added: "When I was in jail, I did 7,417 push ups."

During his time inside, posts from his Twitter account claimed he was the victim of ‘the Matrix’.

In one tweet, he said: "The Matrix has attacked me. But they misunderstand, you cannot kill an idea."

Tate has previously said he ‘thinks we live in a matrix’, saying: "We don’t live in the real world. We are living in a reality where we’re told stories and narratives that aren’t true, where they try very hard to distract us with garbage.”

And he’s likely to believe that bizarre theory even more strongly now as it turns out his release date (March 31) was also the same date as The Matrix landed in US cinemas back in 1999.

Spotting the link, streamer Adin Ross tweeted: “Welcome Home brothers. @Cobratate @TateTheTalisman it must be a coincidence you guys get out on the release date of The Matrix.”

I mean, yes, it is literally a coincidence - that’s all it is.

But Tate seems to think there’s more at work as he’s retweeted the post on his own Twitter account.

Meanwhile, his followers have branded the coincidence ‘wild’ and ‘kinda crazy’.
