Police bodycam footage shows moment gunman Chad Doerman is arrested after allegedly shooting his children

Police have released footage of their arrest of Chad Doerman, who has been charged with murder

Police have released bodycam footage of the arrest of Chad Doerman, who has been charged with three counts of aggravated murder.

The 32-year-old Ohio man was sitting outside his home when officers arrested him after he allegedly shot and killed his three sons.

According to ABC, Doerman is alleged to have lined up his sons; aged seven, four and three, and shot them to death at around 4:15pm on 15 June.

They report that the boy's mother was also wounded in the shooting, with Clermont County Sheriff's Office receiving a call from her telling them 'her babies had been shot'.

Minutes later they received another call from someone saying a young woman was running down the street shouting that 'her father was killing everyone'.

Bodycam footage from the arresting officers shows them approaching Doerman as he is sat on his porch with a gun beside him.

They are seen pushing him down to the ground and cuffing his hands behind his back while the officers who went to arrest the 32-year-old were themselves armed.

According to a press release from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, the man was charged with three counts of aggravated murder.

While the 32-year-old was 'arrested without incident' police found 'three unresponsive gunshot victims' and lifesaving measures were attempted but unsuccessful.

They also found a 34-year-old woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to her hand, and prosecutors have identified her as the children's mother.

Clermont County chief prosecutor David Gast said the woman suffered the injury during the shooting, saying that she 'at some point grabbed the gun the father was wielding to attempt to protect them'.

The prosecutor's office said Doerman, a bond of $20 million has been posted.

Speaking at Doerman's arraignment in court on 16 June, Gast said the 32-year-old had confessed to planning and carrying out the killings of his three sons.

He said: "The trauma that this man has inflicted on his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and all the rest of us is unspeakable.

"There has been a full admission in this case, the case is still new, we’re still discovering facts. But the evil horror of what we know is impossible to process."

"In an act of incomprehensible cruelty, the father that stands before you lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle. In an act of desperation, the mother at some point grabbed the gun the father was wielding to attempt to protect them."
