A TikToker has finally helped shed some light on what the Domino's Pizza tracker is actually doing.

Okay, so you've come in from a night out and all you want is pizza. You some how manage to get your mates' orders in and pay, which should be the end of it?

Except the infamous pizza tracker stays lit up on your screen, taunting you with the fact your pizza isn't here yet, but it does give you random updates about your chef, let's call her Jennifer, who put your pizza in the oven at 11:25pm.

But, is it actually tracking your pizza?

Well, the deep-dive into the deep-dish tracker started when TikToker Emily Sullivan posted a video with the caption 'when i found out the domino's tracker is just a timer'.

Sullivan then lip-syncs the words 'don’t say that; please don’t say that. It was real; it was real to me'.

People were understandably shocked and hurt that the tracker might be lying to them. One user commented, 'So you're telling me Jennifer isn’t quality checking my order.'

However, others were quick to clear up any confusion, saying that Sullivan had been misinformed.

One viewer said, 'EX-DOMINOS GUY HERE: Everything is accurate EXCEPT “quality check” literally just means the pizza is out of the oven and sitting there on the warmer.'

This sentiment was echoed by Domino's itself, which gave a statement to the Daily Dot regarding the controversy.

The statement said that the tracker 'is linked directly to computers in the store, and is based on actual store operations. When the pizza is made and put in the oven, the store team member must press a button, which updates Domino’s Tracker. The same goes for when the pizza goes out on delivery'.

So, it is a tracker, but that doesn't mean that it's accurate. A HuffPost article explained, 'The tracker is legit – but only as legit as the people in the store let it be.'

Enter TikToker Sean, who is a big tech educator and regularly reads the fine prints of patents to help explain how certain technologies work.

In the video, Sean posts Sullivan's original video then explains how they 'read the whole frickin' patent'.

They then said, 'I finally understand why they have this. They’re not out to fool us. It’s to reduce the amount of people who are calling and asking, ‘What status is my pizza at?''

The video ends with the revelation, 'Basically, its not a trick its real.'

So, while the tracker might taunt us with the status of our pizza, it is actually pretty accurate.
