Chick-Fil-A is offering a pretty unique delivery service, bringing its famous chicken sandwiches to customers' homes via drone.
The fast food chain announced on Instagram last week that diners within a 1.2-mile radius of Chick-Fil-A's East Brand/Valrico location in Central Florida will now have the option to have their food delivered by drone.
Pretty exciting stuff.
Chick-Fli-A has partnered with DroneUp, a Virginia-based tech company, to bring drone delivery to its customers, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The service is currently available between 10am and 6pm, Monday through Friday - with free delivery also being for a limited time only.
A video posted by Chick-Fil-A shows exactly how the drone delivery service works.
Customers must first select the 'drone delivery' option while ordering food on the app.
After this, employees then load the food order into a cardboard box and attach it to a drone outside of the restaurant.

The drone then flies to its destination where the food is gently lowered to the ground via a cable - all ready for diners to enjoy.
Some who've tried the new service called the delivery innovation 'the most exciting thing ever.'
One customer wrote on Facebook: “Just got ours – that was super fast. Food was hot, perfect – thanks!!!!”

Another called the service 'game-changing', adding: "Excited to see this expand."
And a third said: "Oh wow this is incredible!!"
But the restaurant is possibly hoping to expand the delivery zone in the near future, as a spokesperson told the outlet in an email that they were in the 'early stages of testing drone delivery at a small number of Chick-fil-A restaurants'.
Earlier this year, Chick-Fil-A was found to have the longest drive-thru wait times of ten major fast food restaurants - so perhaps the drones might be the quicker option.
A study revealed that the fried chicken chain is the worst offender for wait times, with the average service time clocking in at 312.37 seconds from start to finish.

However, it did note that the restaurant had a higher amount of cars – which could have caused long wait times for chicken-obsessed customers.
In comparison, Taco Bell was the speediest, clocking in at a staggering 205.35 seconds from the time you arrive in your car to when you exit the drive thru.
This means that customers get their food in under four minutes!
Run between June and July of this year, the survey involved mystery shoppers visiting various fast food outlets across the US.

While that may sound like the dream job, it required 1491 restaurant visits, which would likely leave you feeling very sick!
