Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey has shared an eerily prescient story about his father's death.
The Dallas Buyers' Club actor revealed his father James, who passed away in 1992, had predicted exactly how he would die.
In a 2020 interview with People ahead of his memoir's debut, McConaughey opened up on receiving the sad news from his mother, who confirmed his father had died, just like he said he would years prior.

"I got a call from my mum: 'Your dad died'. My knees buckled. I couldn't believe it. He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him," McConaughey said.
The True Detective protagonist explained that his dad James had a feeling he'd leave this world while making love to his mum, and that's exactly what happened.
"He'd always told me and my brothers, 'Boys, when I go, I'm gonna be makin' love to your mother.'

"And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed."
The Interstellar actor also weighed in on his parents' relationship, admitting it was sometimes 'violent' and likening it to the Pacific Ocean in a storm.
"They were, at times, violent. As I say in the book, that is how they communicated," McConaughey said.
"They were divorced twice, married three times, I mean, yeah, it was like the Pacific Ocean in a storm."
Speaking of predictions, McConaughey admitted on another occasion that a chance encounter with a mystery 'fortune teller guru' in Los Angeles prompted him to accept the role of Benjamin Barry in cult rom-com How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, where he starred opposite Kate Hudson.

"I remember considering whether I was going to do it or not one night while on a walk down Sunset Boulevard [in the LA area] when suddenly, this guy comes up out of nowhere and said 'Can I tell you your fortune real quick?' I was like, 'Yeah, man. Sure.'"
McConaughey then explained that the 'guru' knew details that he couldn't possibly have known, which alerted him as to whether he'd been sent by the studio to make him accept the role.
"He immediately goes, 'There's a movie you're considering right now. It's a romantic comedy. You have to do this or it will be one of the biggest regrets of your life. It is going to be a blast … and it is going to make a bunch of money,'" the actor explained.
While to this day McConaughey ignores who that man was, it appears that stranger was pivotal in having the actor sign on the dot line and bring one of the most iconic 2000s rom-coms to life.
