The director of The Flash has sung words of praise for Ezra Miller at CinemaCon 2023 following their string of controversies.
People reported that Andy Muschietti called the 30-year-old (who uses the pronouns they/them) ‘one of the best actors’ they’ve ever worked with.
Just after Mushchietti debuted a new trailer of The Flash, he said of Miller: "They are an incredible actor.

"I had a chance to work with one of the best actors I've ever worked with. They bring the emotion, the humor. They wanted to do all the stunts, and I let them."
The upcoming DC flick is set to be released later this year.
However, the film has attracted a lot of worrying headlines after its lead star was arrested multiple times for committing disorderly conduct, assault, and burglary and has been accused of grooming minors.

In August 2022, Miller announced they would seek ‘ongoing treatment’ for ‘complex mental health issues’.
During CinemaCon 2023, Mushchietti gave an update about Miller’s health, claiming they're in a much better place now.
"We're all hoping that they get better... They're taking the steps to recovery. They're dealing with mental health issues, but they're well. We talked to them not too long ago, and they're very committed to getting better,” Mushchietti added.
Back in August, Rolling Stone reported that Miller was charged with felony burglary.

Miller was accused of stealing liquor bottles from an empty home while its residents were out.
They were also charged with assault in Hawaii after reportedly throwing a chair at a 26-year-old woman in April 2022.
Later that year, Native American activists Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle also issued a temporary restraining order against Miller on behalf of their daughter, 18-year-old Tokata Iron Eyes.

The parents said the actor groomed their daughter for six years, leading to physical and verbal abuse, as per Vanity Fair.
On January 13 this year, Miller pleaded guilty to trespassing, and the court approved their plea a day later.
As the actor’s crimes and erratic behavior have been widely publicized, it has called into question their future with the DC universe.
However in January, DC co-head Peter Safran confirmed they were open to future collaborations with The Perks of Being a Wallflower star.

“Ezra is completely committed to their recovery,” Safran said, as per Variety.
“And we are fully supportive of that journey that they’re on right now. When the time is right, when they feel like they’re ready to have the discussion, we’ll all figure out what the best path forward is.”
