In news that will please all horror fans, Mads Mikkelsen has confirmed that he wants to play Hannibal Lecter again.
The iconic Danish actor, 57, portrayed a rather suave version of the unhinged serial killer and cannibal in NBC's critically acclaimed drama Hannibal.
Although the series became a cult favourite, it was sadly cancelled after only three seasons in 2015, and fans have been left hungry for more helpings ever since.
The psychological horror, which was developed by Bryan Fuller, also starred Hugh Dancy as criminal profiler Will Graham who is recruited by the FBI to investigate serial killers in Minnesota.

Because the cases begin to take a toll on him, the head of Behaviour Sciences of the FBI, Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) recruits forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter to supervise Will, which leads to a disturbing bond developing between the two of them.
Mikkelsen won a Saturn Award for Best Actor for his outstanding portrayal of the scariest fictional cannibal ever, who was originally created by novelist Thomas Harris for his 1981 thriller novel, Red Dragon.
And when asked whether he’d consider returning as Hannibal if the show was revived, Mikkelsen certainly didn’t mince his words.
Speaking to UNILAD while discussing his villainous role in the new Indiana Jones film, Mikkelsen declared: “I wouldn’t consider it - I would just say yes let’s go! I think we would all go right away."

Mikkelsen also plays a villain in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The hotly anticipated film is Harrison Ford's final stint as the adventurer and Mikkelsen couldn't be happier to be a part of the project.
"It’s fantastic," he said about sharing the screen with Ford, 80.
"Sitting this close to him, seeing the little things he does… he’s a legend. It’s kind of surreal, you have to pinch yourself that you’re actually doing scenes with this guy."
The final chapter in the Indiana Jones saga sees the whip-smart archeologist embark on one last globe-trotting adventure.
Mostly set in 1969, Indy is retiring from his teaching job at New York’s Hunter College when student Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), who is also his estranged goddaughter, turns up and reveals she's trying to get a hold of an artefact which is said to hold the power to locate fissures in time.

The pair then go on an unexpected journey around the world.
But hot on their tails is Indy’s old nemesis, Jürgen Voller (Mikkelsen), a Nazi who now works as a physicist in the U.S. space program.
And he has his own horrifying plans for the Dial that could change the course of world history.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be released in UK cinemas on 28 June.
