A shooting that resulted in the death of a mother and injuries of over 20 people has taken an even more bizarre turn.
The NFL Super Bowl parade is meant to be a celebration of joy and festivity for a team that has brought a championship to a city.
That was the expectation ahead of the Kansas City Chief’s parade after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a wild and historic Super Bowl game.

However, this celebration was ruined by a shooting that saw fans scrambling to protect their children and take cover in horrific scenes.
According to authorities, the shooting resulted in the death of a mom-of-two and radio DJ, 43-year-old Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
In a statement, Lopez-Galvan's employers at KKFI radio station said: "It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs' rally.

"Our hearts and prayers are with her family. We encourage anyone who feels they saw something to reach out to law enforcement. This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC Community."
Following the shooting, police took three people into custody and one of the individuals accused of being involved was identified as 23-year-old Lyndell Mays.

After admitting to pulling a gun on strangers after a brief altercation, he was shot multiple times and was sent to the hospital.
May’s mother, Teneal Burnside, created a GoFundMe page for her son and even showed him in hospital recovering from nine bullet wounds in a shooting that he allegedly confessed to starting.

“He is in the ICU fighting for a recovery from several surgeries from going to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration with his older sister,” the now-deleted fundraiser said.
“Getting shot multiple times at a time that was [meant] to bring so much joy to so many has [brought] pain and sadness to all that was attending,” it said.
The fundraiser was able to raise $100 to pay for his medical bills before he was charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

18-year-old Dominic Miller received the same charges and the pair are both being held on a $1 million bond.
Miller, who allegedly drew his weapon after May’s pulled his, was the person who fired the bullet that killed Lopez Gavlan.
