Chiefs fan who hosted party where three friends were found dead in backyard checks into rehab

Kansas City Chiefs fan Jordan Willis has reportedly checked into rehab following the death of three friends found in his backyard.

Three men, David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were all found dead outside a home in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 9.

This was two days after they went over to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the LA Chargers.

The home was rented by Willis who has now checked into rehab, according to reports.

After police received a call from one of the men’s fiancée's, they went to the rented home to conduct a welfare check.

According to Willis, this was when he was informed that his three friends had died.

A source close to Willis spoke to Fox News Digital earlier this week about Willis’ ongoing experience with addiction. The source claimed he is now ‘facing his addiction head on’.

"After the shocking loss of three of his close friends under extremely tragic circumstances, Jordan recognized that he had a problem with addiction,” the source said.

The source did not elaborate further on the exact nature of Willis’ addiction nor the details surrounding the tragic circumstances.

"He immediately checked himself into rehab after vacating his home and putting his things into storage," the source added.

It is not clear if any drugs were related to the deaths of the three men.

At the time, Willis’ attorney, John Picerno, said in a statement: "Jordan is unaware of how his friends died. Like the rest of us, Jordan is anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology."

When informed by police of the bodies being found in the backyard, Willis claimed he had been asleep for nearly two days and did not realize his friends had died.

The three men were last seen alive two days prior to the watch party on January 7.

A fifth friend, who had been at the gathering, left the house around 11 pm while the others were watching TV, according to Willis’ attorney.

A neighbor also told the Fox News outlet that they had seen two of the now deceased men arrive at Willis’ house with 30 packs of beer on the night of the football game.

Kansas City Police Captain Jake Becchina has noted that the case is '100 percent not being investigated as a homicide'.

However, families of the deceased have revealed what they think happened, with one claiming 'nobody believes' Willis' version of events.
